Feb 3, 2025 · Hi all, I have this issue with my gti always saying Error: Esp when I start the car and it is followed with the tpms light flashing for 1 minute before becoming solid. When you put the key and turn to start, the starter motor isn't engaging, the 'P' on the gearshift is flashing and the dash says 'ESP ERROR'. No permanent light illuminated. 2022 MK8 GTI DSG Kings Red, DCC, Pan Roof, Winter Pack. I’ve been trying to find a fix for a while now with no luck. Could it be the battery? What did the fault codes say? VW garage has started investigation. I've driven probably 4-500 miles since then and disconnected the battery twice to try and reset it and it's still there. Parked for 1 hour then it won't start displaying "ESP Error" on MFD. Mar 19, 2018 · Anyone had this problem and fixed it? You need to scan for fault codes then go from there! The ABS, ESP, TPS and steering wheel lights are all “linked” so it’s not likely to be multiple faults, it could be an ABS sensor gone bad but you need to scan it.
